    Home Remedies for Stinking Feet

    Smelly feet are embarrassing. It can impact your relationship with your spouse and peer group. The sweat does not get evaporated, as one wears socks, resulting in bad smell. Bacteria thrives on the skin due to sweat and the dead cells of the skin, causing smelly feet.

    Beneficial Home Remedies for Stinking Feet:

    • Talcum powder: This is used daily and at home. It is an effective antiperspirant and easy to use. The perfume of the talcum smells good and cures the bad odor of the feet
    • Lavender Oil: This smells good and gets rid of the bacteria. It contains antifungal properties that treat food odor very effectively. How to use it?
      • Put essential oil lavender drops in warmed up water.
      • Let the feet soak in it for about 15 to 20 minutes.
      • Repeat this daily twice
    • Baking Soda: This effectively contains bad odor and does neutralize the pH present in the sweat and reduces the bacteria
    • Epsom salt: This gets rid of the microbial infection, reducing the bad feet odor. One can have detoxifying bath, using Epsom salt to soothe aching feet.
      • Mix about 2 tps of regular Epsom salts in warm water of about half a bucket.
      • Soak your feet in it for about 10 to 15 minutes. Do this before going to bed as one need not wear socks.
    • Alum: This contains antiseptic as well as astringent properties and prevents the growth of bacteria. How?
      • Mix about 1 teaspoonful of Alum powder in a cup of water.
      • Wash one’s feet in this mix.
      • After a span of 15 or perhaps 20 dry the feet thoroughly.
      • Sprinkle some amount of Alum powder on the feet.
      • This can be done once in a day.
    • Vinegar: This can treat smelly feet on account of its acidic elements.
      • Make a mix of about half cup containing vinegar with 8 cups containing hot water.
      • Soak the feet in about 10 to 15 minutes.
      • Wash the feet thoroughly with soap to rid smell of vinegar.
    • Thyme: Add this to vinegar and warm water and apply
    • Black tea: This contains tannic acid that rids bacteria. Naturally, the foot odor goes
    • Ginger ointment: Make a puree of ginger that is fresh. Then take about 1 boiling and put ginger puree in it. After about 10 minutes, strain the content. It will form into thick like substance. Apply it on the feet. Try it out twice for effective results
    • Black tea: Boil about 2 tea bags of black tea in about 3 cups containing hot water. Add to this half bucket normal water to reduce the temperature of the mix
    • Soak one’s feet for about 15 to 20 minutes. This needs to be done daily
    • Vodka: One can soak one’s feet in vodka as it will kill the bacteria, thus preventing bad odor
    • Sage: Keep some fresh sage leaves in the shoes to prevent odor
    • Vaseline: One must soak one’s feet in warm water for about 15 to 20 minutes. Use a pumice stone to remove the dirt and then dry the feet with a towel. Apply vaseline and then put on socks overnight. The skin becomes soft and the bacteria die
    • Vegetable Oil: Rub vegetable oil on the feet and wear socks
    • Oatmeal: Soak oats in warm water. Once these are soft, rub them on one’s feet and wash the feet with water that is luke warm

    Get a bucket or something to put water into. Fill it up to ankle level then get 4 tea bags rub them in-between your toes and all over your feet/then break them up into the water steep your feet for 10 minutes, then rinse the tea off dry your feet and I swear no more sore or smelly feet.

    If the problem of smelly feet is still there and above Home Remedies for Smelly Feet does not work out then walk your perfumed feet to the nearest podiatrist.

    Other simple Natural Cures

    • Keep the shoes in a ventilated are
    • Keep the feet clean at all times
    • Corn starch also reduces the smell
    • Try baking soda, as it absorbs the existing moisture
    • Wear sandals so that the feet breathe
    • Whenever one puts away one’s shoes, one can keep a sachet that is full of cedar chips
    • Scrub the feet well to get rid of bacteria and skins cells that are dead
    • Dry the feet well after a bath.
    • Use a sanitizer
    • Change socks daily
    • Place cedar wood shaves or whole cloves in the shoes when not wearing them. The smell will disappear
    • Wash shoes regularly
    • Remove shoes as often as possible
