    Home Remedies for Skin Burn

    You must have felt at least once in your life, the pain and suffering of burns. Burns can be such a day to day domestic problem that everyone can have. The household work including the kitchen work, or sometimes firing the fireplace in cold countries, or burning candles for home decorations or power cuts, all carry a high rated chance for minor skin burns. As these are domestic accidents, it will come in handy if you are aware of some home remedies for skin burn.

    According to the cause of the damage, there can be three types of burns:

    • Thermal burns (caused by extreme heat or cold),
    • Chemical burns (caused by chemical solutions like acid) and
    • Radiant burns (these cover sunburn, or burns from x-rays or artificial ultraviolet rays from tanning booths).

    According to the depth of the damage, there also can be three types of burns:

    First degree burns: This includes mild burns with red skin and mild pain. By applying home remedies for skin burns, the first rate burns can be healed in about three to six days.

    Home remedies for skin burn of first degree

    • Place the burnt skin under the flowing cold water.
    • You can apply cold milk or cucumber juice on the burnt area.
    • Also, you may use turmeric paste for quick healings; this saves from spreading the infection.
    • The liquid from Vitamin E capsule is also very helpful. Just break the capsule and pour the liquid on it.
    • Aloevera cream or antibiotic ointment application soothes the skin.

    Second degree burns: These include blisters, splotchy skin. The skin may swell and it becomes very painful. It takes 2 to 3 weeks to heal up.

    Home remedies for skin burn of second degree

    • Place the burnt area in flowing cold water at least for 15 minutes.
    • Put wet clean soft cloths on the burnt area for several minutes for few days.
    • Apply honey, this saves from infection and fasten the healing process.
    • Papaya paste helps to remove dead cells and grow new cells.
    • Lavender oil is also helpful in healing the burnt area.

    Third degree burns: These are severe damage to the skin with white or charred texture. But, these are not that much painful, because it destroys the skin nerves. It takes long time to heal.

    Home remedies for skin burn of third degree

    • Apply thick weighty cloths like blankets to prevent the fire from being spread and extinguish it as soon as possible.
    • Do not put cold water in this case.
    • Do not try to pull out cloths that are stuck with the burnt skin.
    • Cover the burnt area with clean soft cloths till the receipt of the medical assistance.
    • Hospitalize the injured person sharply.

    After the initial treatment, for milder burns, keep the burnt area covered with a fresh and clean bandage. Plan your diet properly after the accident. One of the home remedies for skin burn is a proper diet with high protein and calories. Also intake lots of Vitamin B complex, Vitamin C, Glutamine, Arginine, Copper, Zinc and Selenium as your daily diet for fast recovery.
